The Handlebards - "Much Ado About Nothing"

September 4th 2019  - Doors open at 5PM - Performance starts at 6PM

The Handlebards stop off at The Rectory Whitton Tower on their return from the Edinburgh festival for their fabulous take on Shakespeare's play "Much Ado About Nothing"

They are cycling actors who carry all the set, props and costume needed to perform extremely energetic, charmingly chaotic and environmentally sustainable Shakespeare plays across the globe.

They specialise in outdoor theatre, as they love performing in the open air, but really,  happy performing almost anywhere.

This is a great opportunity to see them in the beautify grounds of The Rectory Whitton Tower, Whitton near to Rothbury Northumberland.

Ethel Watson Children's Convalescent Home Open Day

 Saturday 24th August 2019 at 12 noon till 4PM

This is the 2nd Open Day at Whitton Tower for the Children and Staff of the Convalescent Home. This event has been requested by those who attended the First Open Day in 2017.  We tried to incorporate one with the 2018 Whitton Open Garden Day event, but felt a private one this year, just for the Children and Staff would be more appropriate. So the Rectory gardens will be open for you to come and have a picnic with your friends and family. Those who wish to take a look inside the home they stayed in will be very welcome on the day and on request.

Please Note!  Whitton Tower is made up of private residences - The Rectory is opening its garden for this event and is our home, please be mindful that the other residences require their privacy.
